World Heart Day 2019 was Sunday 29th September, 2019. Staff at Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service participated in the celebrations to promote Heart Awareness on Friday 27th September. Janie Bunk and Megan Adams are the Leaders of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard 2 Partnering with Consumers initiative and excelled in their commitment to promote Heart Health within the Community and staff. Staff from all areas of the Health service were involved which included Nursing, Medical, Allied Health, Cleaning, Laundry, Kitchen, and Administration staff. The hospital was decorated by Portfolio Leader Megan Adams and her colleagues Margie Jackson, Jess Scott, Dean Rufus, Debbie Anderson and Chrissy Clarke.
Staff from all disciplines in the hospital wore RED on Friday 27th September to promote this awareness of Heart Health and communicate Heart Health information to our Community and Team. There was a ‘RED FOOD’ Afternoon Tea in the Staff Lounge.
