Stepping On – Falls Prevention Program

A seven week program aimed at reducing the risk of falls in older people called Stepping On has started on Norfolk. Facilitated by Chris Clarke and Geoff Fisher from the Physio Department, with assistance from Liat Baddock, Manager of Care Norfolk Island and Karen Innes-Walker, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, the program has been shown to reduce the risk of falls by 30%. Stepping On includes information on a wide range of topics shown to affect the risk of falls as well as some gentle exercises to help with balance and strength.
