Women aged 40 and over should have a screening mammogram every two years. Those who have the BrCa gene, or who have been advised to do so at their last screening, should have a screen every year.
Breast Screening is provided annually for two weeks on Norfolk Island at the Hospital (NIHRACS).
The screening mammogram is free to those who have a Medicare card.
Appointments to have a screening mammogram are necessary and can be made by phoning NIHRACS on 24134.
