Healthy Cooking Demonstration – 7 March at the Supper Room

Our first Healthy Cooking demonstration for 2023 will be on Tuesday 7th March and will be held in the Supper Room from 5.30pm.  Karen Innes-Walker, Accredited Practicing Dietitian, will be talking about the benefits of following the “Mediterranean” Lifestyle, including the eating habits that have been extensively researched since the 1960s. Research has shown a positive link between this lifestyle and lower rates of heart disease, diabetes with a possible role in preventing dementia and glaucoma and better outcomes for those with rheumatoid arthritis. Norfolk is perfectly suited for those who choose to follow this lifestyle.

Karen and Judith Andersen will then demonstrate “Mediterranean Cooking” using three fantastic recipes. Roast Pumpkin, Chicken & Honey Mustard Salad, Greek Style Lamb & Potato Bake & Lime, Yoghurt & Olive Oil Cake.

Thanks to Pete’s Place there will also be some lucky door prizes of Cobram Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Recipes and tastings will be available.

If you would like to register please call the Health & Wellbeing team on 22687, mobile 53969 or email karen.walker@health.nlk.gov.nf by Friday 3 March. Cost is $5.00 per person, please bring your own water bottle.
