My name is Loretto Lawrie, I am the new Clinical Nurse Educator at NIHRACS. I grew up in North Queensland and am one of 8 children! My passion to become a nurse began when I was a teenager, unfortunately my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and I helped care for him during this time.
I went to James Cook University in Townsville and graduated with a double degree in Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Science. Prior to coming to Norfolk Island, I have worked in a variety of health care settings, including one of Brisbane’s largest hospitals. In 2019 I completed Masters in Public Health and began teaching undergraduate nursing and paramedics at university.
I have relocated to Norfolk Island with my husband and four children, and we are enjoying the laid-back lifestyle, fishing and natural beauty that the island has to offer.
