World Mental Health Day-10 October

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on the 10th October. The World Health Organization, (WHO) strives to raise awareness of mental health issues worldwide and to mobilize efforts to support mental health and reduce stigma. The theme for World MH day 2024 is “It’s time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace”  https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day/2024.  An estimated 15% of working-age adults have a mental disorder at any point in time. The WHO guidelines on mental health at work provide evidence-based recommendations to promote mental health, prevent mental health conditions, and enable people living with mental health conditions to participate and thrive in the workplace. Ask your manager if your workplace provides access to employment assistance schemes or programs to assist staff and their families in managing their mental wellbeing, both at work and home.
